Look, some of these posts are going to be more boring than others-- I'm on vacation! Today was a "let's explore the town" day, so I could just get used to walking around. Also it was "let's see how this supermarket here works". Also got to see some sweet live music and watch the USWNT win
Started the day at Joyce's (the supermarket). I'm gonna be going here a lot. And it's not because they have bizarre specials like this:

Other than that though, this is a pretty sweet supermarket! In terms of other goals, also bought and read the Irish Times... you know, because you should eventually learn about where you're living.
Anyhow, after I figured out how my stove works, made myself a crap lunch, then ventured forth. As I said before, this really is a pretty beautiful town here:
Started reading "Cutting for Stone", which turns out, sadly is also a pun rather than a sweet book about mining. On the plus side though, this was my reading room for the day:

I literally walked about 10 miles today around the town. Gotta get those steps in even though I don't have a fitbit!
Watched the USWNT win with an Australian guy and some random Americans at The Quays. Some great live music in the background, plus my first Guinness in Ireland (10 carbs). Also, if anyone knows how "Poms" (sp?) is derogatory in Australian for English folk, let me know. This guy kept on saying it and I kept nodding knowingly.

Not much more after that-- got a food tour coming up tomorrow, so will boil the rest down to musings:
Musings:
-Same Australian guy from above claimed Colin Hay was dead, and committed suicide. Untrue, turns out (he meant his bandmate), but hey, he was *very* confident about it so I let it go.

-People really do say "craic" (pronounced "crack") here a lot. Like "what's the craic" or "good craic", or any of a dozen other iterations I've yet to learn.
Moment of Zen:
